A man carrying a bloody butcher's knife was arrested outside the home of Ontario Premier Doug Ford. The man was arrested by a lone Ontario provincial Police officer who was stationed outside the home. Despite the potential, on injuries have been reported.

"Last night, a man with a large butcher’s knife showed up at the Premier’s home while yelling threats," Ford’s press secretary Alexandra Adamo said in a statement. “An OPP officer was on site and arrested the man immediately.”

According to the Toronto Star, the outlet that first reported the story, the man arrived at the premier’s home at around 7:30. Neighbours reported that the man’s car screeched to a halt before he emerged with a bloody knife and began yelling.

"Brandishing a knife spattered with what appeared to be blood, the man yelled for several minutes outside the premier’s front door," TorStar reports.

Ford's house has been the sight of constant protests according to the Premier, who said at an earlier press conference, "Every single day," he said, "there’s protesters outside my house. It doesn’t, it doesn’t affect me. I’m not there."

He praised his neighbours saying, "I have the best neighbours anyone could ever ask for. They didn’t sign up for this. They aren’t making decisions for the government."

The neighbours and the Premier's office had nothing but praise for the quick thinking member of the Premier's OPP security detail who was able to deescalate and avoid a possible deadly situation.
