A Toronto police officer has been hospitalized after being involved in a collision with another cop car in Scarborough this morning.

The accident took place around 5 am on Birchmount Road and Hollis Avenue, between Kingston Road and Danforth Avenue.

Police say officers in both cruisers were responding to a break and enter call on Progress Avenue, which is about 11 kilometres away from the crash scene, CP24 reports.

One of the police vehicles suffered major damages, and paramedics took the injured to hospital for treatment.
