Tuesday night’s game was James’ debut with the Philadelphia 76ers, per Outkick. While his teammates were seen standing respectfully during the rendition of the national anthem, James was seen practicing his golf swing and free throw.
James had previously been seen on Christmas Day practicing his golf swing while the national anthem played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
In 2023, James again drew ire for entering the stadium and sitting down while the national anthem was playing at a college basketball game his son, Bronny, had been playing in.
Trump was asked to weigh in on the LeBron James versus Michael Jordan debate for greatest player over the summer, with Trump telling reporters, "Michael Jordan is a guy that's a friend of mine, play golf with him. He's a really good guy. And I think LeBron is, maybe he's a racist, but maybe he doesn't like Trump, I don't know. But I only like people that like me. So, I would say Michael Jordan all the way."
