The Regina Police Service Drug Unit made a significant illegal drug trafficking bust on Friday, with officials revealing that large amounts of meth, fentanyl, cocaine, and cash were seized in the operation.
The investigation resulted in the arrests of 48-year-old David Innes and 35-year-old Andrew Victor Lloyd Gordon, both of Calgary, Alberta. A .41 Caliber handgun was also seized.
According to a release from the Regina Police, the following significant quantities of controlled substances were seized:
- 750 grams of fentanyl,
- 7200 grams of methamphetamine,
- 140 grams of cocaine,
- $56,000.00 in Canadian Currency,
- Loaded .41 caliber revolver,
- Additional ammunition, and
- Multiple scales, cell phones, packaging and other items to support drug trafficking substances.
According to The Recovery Village, just 2 mg of fentanyl is enough to kill a human.
Innes and Gordon have been charged with trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking cocaine, and trafficking fentanyl. Innes faces additional charges, including possession of firearms contrary to a prohibition order, careless use of a firearm, and other firearm-related charges.
The two appeared in Regina provincial court on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
