"The fact is ain't none of y'all trying to go and farm right now... We done picking cotton."
Crockett said while speaking at Grace Baptist Church in Connecticut over the weekend, "So I had to go around the country and educate people about what immigrants do for this country or the fact that we are a country of immigrants."
"The fact is ain't none of y'all trying to go and farm right now," the crowd laughed and she gave them an incredulous pause. "Okay, so I'm lying? Raise your hands..." The crowd laughed. "You not! You not! We done picking cotton. We are! You can't pay us enough to find a plantation."
In March, the rising star in the Democratic Party made similar comments while making the case that Americans needed illegal immigrants because they do the work that the college-educated country won't do.Crockett said while speaking at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on March 8, "How many of you are sending your kids to college? How many of you are sending your kids to college to go and work on the farms?"
After receiving no response, Crockett continued, "Okay, so, guess who is working the farms so that you can afford your food? So that you can have food."
She added, "Now, how many of you are looking to send your kids into hospitality after this college education so that they can go and make the beds at the hotels? How many of you are planning to send your kids to college — because that's what we do, we send everybody to college — how many of you are planning to send your kids to college so that they can then go and build these houses?"
Crockett concluded, "So the reality is, as long as we live in a capitalistic society, there's always going to be someone, or a group of people, that will do work that some of the rest of y'all don't want to do. These are the people who are really making us great in this country. They pay into taxes. And guess what? They’re not able to pull down on Social Security. So to have people going out disparaging them and targeting them, that is not what makes us great," she concluded.

But they DON'T pay into Social Security, and so they HAVE NO RIGHT to receive it when they're sixty-two.
