Rep. Omar mocks Capitol Attack by claiming it'd be worse if Noah Green had a gun

Rep. Omar once downplayed the 9/11 terror attack by claiming it was an event where "some people did something."

Today marked the most extraordinary day of activity in Washington D.C. since the riot in January. A Nation of Islam member, Noah Green, rammed his car into two USCP officers at the North Barricade access point along Independence Avenue. Officer William F. Evans lost his life in the confrontation that followed while subduing the attacker.

The lockdown placed across the city was an ominous moment that for some reminded them of the recent past.

For Democrat Rep. Ilhan Omar, she chose to cope by making a political statement about how the situation could've been worse if Green had a gun.

“Heartbroken to learn another CP was killed while protecting the Capitol. My thoughts and prayers go out to the officer’s family and the entire Capitol Police force. The death toll would have been worse if the assailant had an AR-15 instead of a knife.”

Unable to pin the blame on so-called white supremacy, making a statement about the second amendment is their go-to fallback option.

The Nation of Islam has a favorable affinity for Ilhan Omar. Back in early 2019, the group’s leader praised Omar for making anti-Semitic remarks in her first few weeks in office. Later in the year, on the anniversary of September 11th, a victim’s son rebuked Omar for her infamous “some people did something” line, which became a scarlet letter for her career.

Likewise, this most recent tweet from Omar has provoked ire.

“Some Farrakhan follower did something.”

"They just can’t help it."

"A Capitol Police officer who risked his life protecting yours every single day was murdered not even three hours ago and you’re already politicizing his death."

"just an immediate pivot to propaganda. “truly, the gun that didn't shoot is the REAL problem!”"

Another recent social media gaffe in the same vein came from DC Mayor Bowser. Two teenage girls that tried to carjack UberEats driver Mohammad Anwar were filmed committing the atrocity on social media. Mayor Bowser responded with an ill-timed "here's not how to get carjacked" PSA.
