"RIP Fox News" as well as "Bye Fox" and "Done with Fox" all trended on Twitter.
Following the announcement of Tucker Carlon leaving Fox News, "RIP Fox News" as well as "Bye Fox" and "Done with Fox" were trending on Twitter as many noted Carlson’s hit primetime show that brought in millions of viewers to the network.
On Monday it was revealed that Carlson and the network were parting ways, with his last Tucker Carlson Tonight show airing on Friday, April 21. This brings to an end the frequently top-rated show on cable news, which first began in 2016, often surpassing 4.5 million viewers per episode.
"Tucker was the only thing keeping corporate news alive. With him gone I'm gonna be canceling my cable package and just following the indy internet people for news coverage," wrote podcaster Clint Russell.
"Tucker Carlson was the last remaining vestige of credibility Fox News had left. This isn’t going to end well for them," wrote another Twitter user.
"Good for Tucker. Trust me, he doesn’t need them," wrote Megyn Kelly.
Others noted canceling their subscriptions to Fox Nation, the news network's streaming service.
