A "Black Mass" will be occurring at the Kansas State Capitol on March 28, where a group called the "Satanic Grotto" is scheduled to host an event for three hours. A protest from Christians has already been planned in response.

According to the non-profit America Needs Fatima, there is a protest planned to take place against the group's "Black Mass." Satanic Grotto's Facebook page stated for the event, "Join us at the Topeka Capitol building in Kansas as we dedicate the grounds and our legislature to the glory of Satan. We will be performing rites to the Black Mass and indulging in sacrilegious blaspheme. God will fall and Kansas will be embraced by the black flame of Lucifer."

The group ended the event description saying, "Hail Satan."

The event is accompanied by a cover photo of the Kansas State Capitol in black and white that states, "The Satanic Grotto is proud to present Black Mass at the Capital. (sic) An expression of blaspheme and a dedication to Satan." It also noted that the event will take place from 11 am to 1 pm.

The hosts include a person who goes by "Jaee Frazee," uses "he/they" pronouns, and wears face makeup depicting upside down crosses as well as the Satanic Grotto group. The caption on the profile photo states, "Worship thy self, you are your own God, Hail you, hail Satan..."

Razee claims to be a satanic priest and said in a post a few days ago that Razee was "honored" to marry some people earlier this week.

The Satanic Grotto group profile photo, on the other hand, is of a skull with horns as well as satanic symbols around it. The about information on the Facebook group page states, "The Grotto is an organization for Satanist and allies walking the left hand path. We are dedicated to improving our community through shared education, fellowship, artistic expression and community activism. Welcome and Hail Satan."

The group also claims to be a religious organization.

Two other hosts include a man named Travis Roberts as well as another named Michael Stewart.

Photos from Stewart's account show that he supports left-wing activism, where he posed with skimpy clothing in front of signs that say slogans such as "trans rights = human rights" as well as "support women's rights" and "F*ck Christian Fascists." All the signs were under a satanic flag.

America Needs Fatima (ANF) and the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) have both planned a nationwide campaign against the display. ANF's page states, "A petition drive is underway, and over ten thousand signatures have been gathered from outraged Americans. A protest rally of reparation is also planned."

TFP Student Action also posted a petition to combat the display at the building. "Unfortunately, satanists are planning a public Black Mass inside the Kansas State Capitol building on Friday, March 28, 2025. This [is an] attack against God, the Holy Mass, and Our Blessed Mother." The petition already has over 20,900 signatures.
