It's possible that the first link between human bodies and protection from the coronavirus has been found by a team of American scientists, according to Global News.

These encouraging findings come from a recent case study of people on a fishing boat that embarked from Seattle back in May of this year.

The passengers in question lamentably experienced an outbreak of the virus while the vessel was at sea, but many of them didn't become infected with it. And fortunately, since the pandemic was already a known problem at the time, everybody had undergone extensive testing before getting on the boat.

A certain antibody present in the blood of some passengers appears to be linked to resistance to the virus. Those who tested positive for it did not contract the virus in any way, shape or form.

These findings are still subject to peer review, and are considered to be preliminary in nature. Further studies will be necessary to prove causation. However, the findings are considered by many to be exciting and promising.

Previously, all that there was to go on were a few studies performed on animals, which always leave the doubt as to their efficacy regarding human transmission of and resistance to the virus.
