Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) blamed President Joe Biden of failing to intervene in the ongoing chaos at Columbia University, alleging that the President is hesitant to act out of fear of alienating pro-Hamas activists within the Democratic Party.

Kennedy made the accusation during a recent statement, asserting that Biden had the ability to contact Columbia leaders and disperse the protests but has chosen not to do so.

“President Biden is scared to death to alienate the Hamas-wing of the Democratic Party,” Kennedy stated.

He further elaborated, pointing to recent polling data suggesting a significant portion of likely voters would not support Biden in future elections. Kennedy interpreted this as Biden's reluctance to take action against the protests.

“He has read that new CNN poll that just came out that said that 52% of likely voters… will never under any circumstances on God’s good green Earth vote for Joe Biden,” Kennedy explained.

“You should call it for what it is: rule by mob.”

Kennedy went on to say that these protesters have a “belief in diversity, equity, inclusion, and the right to kill Jews. And it’s wrong.”

Kennedy's comments come amidst continued unrest at Columbia University, where pro-Palestine protests have resulted in the university canceling its main commencement ceremony due to concerns of unrest and violence.

The protesters occupied and vandalized buildings on campus leading up to massive arrests at the school. The majority of those arrested were not actual students.

Columbia University President Minouche Shafik has requested the continued presence of the New York Police Department (NYPD) on campus until at least May 17 to prevent the reestablishment of encampments and to “maintain order.”

Former President Donald Trump also blasted Biden on Monday for his inaction against the protests, citing a recent report by Politico that revealed that the major financial backers of these protests are also major donors to Biden's re-election campaign.
