Danish police report that several people are dead and a currently untold more injured at a Copenhagen shopping mall in Denmark on Sunday.

A 22-year-old male is currently in custody after opening fire in Fields, one of the country's largest shopping malls. Head of the Copenhagen police operations unit Soren Thomassen said, "We know that there are several dead" with "several injured" and that he could not rule out that this was a terrorist attack, according to NBC News.

Police were alerted of the shooting at around 12:30 EST and arrived soon after along with the fire department. According to NBC News, the police tweeted that they arrived "in large numbers" and were heavily armed.

Copenhagen Mayor Sophie H. Andersen tweeted as soon as she heard of the incident and wrote, "Terrible reports of shooting in Fields. We do not yet know for sure how many were injured or dead, but it is very serious."

The Associated Press reports that footage from the scene is intense as victims are crying, being carried out on stretchers, and running away in panic and hysteria.

Shopper Laurits Hermansen told a Danish broadcaster that he was with his family in a clothing store when he heard "three-four bangs. Really loud bangs. It sounded like the shots were being fired just next to the store."

Fields is located near Copenhagen's Royal Arena where popular singer Harry Styles is scheduled to perform later today.

He went to Snapchat to say, "My team and I pray for everyone involved in the Copenhagen shopping mall shooting. I am shocked. Love H."

Local police have said it's safe for Styles to perform and the concert is still scheduled for later today.

In an updated posted by event promoter Live Nation, they said, "Our security staff are in close dialogue with the police who are in control of the situation. The police have also given the go ahead for the concert to proceed as planned. We’re showing the audience into the arena as quickly and quietly as possible, and there are already over half of the audience seated. We wish you all a good concert."

According to the Independent though, that concert has since been canceled.
