Radical activist filmmaker Michael Moore faced an avalanche of criticism following a tweet about the gunman involved in Monday's mass shooting in a grocery store in Boulder, CO.

Boulder Police identified the suspected shooter as Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, who immigrated to the US from Syria as a child. Al-Issa reportedly had ISIS sympathies, an anonymous White House official said on Tuesday, according to Jack Posobiec.

Screenshots of Al-Issa's social media pages show that the alleged mass murderer advocated for increased acceptance of refugees. Al-Issa has been charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder.

The "Bowling for Columbine" director, tweeted a picture of the Statue of Liberty and wrote, "The life of Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa shows that people can come from all over the world and truly assimilate into our beloved American culture."

Social media pundits from both sides of the political spectrum slammed Moore who is a vocal gun control activist, over the tone deaf tweet.
