Canadian Freedom Convoy supporters and fans of former President Donald Trump weighed in Tuesday on New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution – and persecution – of the former president.

One observer said the process remains a “Stalinist show trial.”

Bragg charged Trump with 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

Lawyer and top YouTuber David Freiheit – known on social media as “Viva Frei!” – condemned the process, noting that the use of the term “first degree” in the charges “made it sound like murder in the first degree.”

He focused on the judge in the trial, Juan Merchan.

“Who is judge Juan Merchan? HIs caseload has featured charges against former President Donald Trump’s company and some of Trump’s closest associates in business and politics. Well that sounds fair!” Freiheit said.

“It’s a joke, the degree to which they’re not afraid to make this look like a Stalinist show trial.” but said it will appeal to those “frothing at the mouth” Trump haters.

He noted that one of those Never Trumpers, author Steven King, suggested that Trump is getting what he deserves because of an alleged extramarital affair.

Freiheit responded, “Do I need to remind you that Bill Clinton inserted a cigar into the vagina of a White House intern in the Oval Office and was stooping her … apparently in the Oval Office while he was president and that she was a rather young intern?”

The YouTuber said the indictment should make President Joe Biden nervous.

“Not arguably, but definitely, [Biden] has had more questionable business dealings, quid pro quos, corruption,” he said.

“At some point they might just go after Joe Biden as well … and replace him with another useful idiot.”

Other Canadian Trump supporters with large social media followings declared their support for Trump.

Brandon Taylor Moore tweeted:

“They’re trying to put a gag order on the front-runner of the 2024 election. America, it's time to rise up or the torch of freedom will be extinguished.”

Although Merchan did not dictate a gag order, he issued a vague warning to Trump about not using social media to incite violence.

After the release of the indictment, Moore continued, “#EpsteinIsland #BillClinton hasn’t been indicted. Now that there is no longer a statute of limitations, I don’t understand why?”

Freedom Convoy supporter Liz Churchill tweeted:

“How ‘laws’ will work under the ‘New World Order’…President Trump is facing 34 Felony Charges for imaginary crimes…but Bill Gates goes to child-raping Epstein’s Island over 37 times and is charged with nothing.”

Lawyer Robert Barners told Freiheit that Trump should bolster his defense team

“I do not have confidence in Trump’s current defense team. I do not understand why he doesn’t have Alan Dershowitz as the lead attorney on his team.”

He called Trump’s lead attorney, Joe Tacopina, “a kind of a dumb loudmouth” who has been a favorite of “Democratic media over and over again.”
