Steve Bannon reached out to the National Pulse from the Danbury federal prison where he's serving four months for contempt of Congress to give his reaction to the assassination attempt on Donald Trump at a Pennsylvania rally.

"I've warned about this very thing for over a year–an assassination attempt–the threat is real, very real," Bannon said. "Thankfully, President Trump wears the Armor of God. Today, our leader showed total command presence, stood tall, and said 'FIGHT'!"

Trump was speaking to a crowd in Pennsylvania when shots rang out, a single bullet pierced his right ear. Blood smeared across the Republican presidential candidate's face, prompting his Secret Service agents to surround him. He then emerged, raised his fist in the air, and mouthed the words "Fight! Fight! Fight!"

Earlier this month, Bannon reported to Danbury prison to serve what many consider to be a politically charged sentence.

"Victory or death ... It’s time for me to surrender up at Danbury," Bannon said to press and supporters. He then walked up to the prison facility.

Bannon was convicted of contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the J6 Committee, which sought communications deemed protected under executive privilege. The committee demanded correspondence between Bannon and then-President Donald Trump. Although Trump later revoked the privilege to allow Bannon to comply, Congress and a court proceeded with the charges regardless.

He appealed the decision, but his conviction was upheld in federal court. Seeking further recourse, he took his case to the Supreme Court of the United States and requested to remain out of prison during the appeal process. However, SCOTUS denied his motion.
