Everyone's favourite Trudeau Minister Steven Guilbeault refused to respond to a journalist about how his activist past would influence his mandate as Canada's Environment Minister.
Speaking to reporters during a press conference, Guilbeault said that the government's position on climate change and the environment was widely known and that there was no secret agenda going on in his ministry.
"I don't have a secret agenda as a climate minister. It's a government effort to tackle one of humanity's greatest challenges," said Guilbeault.
Before joining the Liberal Party, Guilbeault gained notoriety for illegally climbing the C.N. Tower to protest Canada's inaction over climate change.
Guilbeault was appointed as Environment Minister during Trudeau's post-election reshuffle. Previously, he served as the Heritage Minister, where he became associated with the internet legislation bills like C-10.
During the election, the Conservative Party alleged that this amounted to nothing less than internet censorship.
Guilbeault is expected to attend the United Nations climate change conference in Glasgow (COP26) where Trudeau will also be in attendance alongside other world leaders, according to CBC News.
The previous Environment Minister Johnathan Wilkinson is expected to be shuffled to Natural Resources.
