A student from Colorado Springs alleges she was forced to tape her mask to her face after it kept falling off in class.

The masks people use to protect themselves against COVID-19 are often "one-size-fits-all," and sometimes despite one's best intentions, it just doesn't stay on. While the typical response is simply to pull it back up whenever it falls down, a Colorado student is claiming her school took extra measures to assure her mask stayed in place.

As CBS4 reports, a student in Academy School District 20 alleges she was forced to tape her mask to her face, with her mother adding that it was because the mask kept falling off during class.

The incident was first reported at Chinook Trail Middle School, though it is not yet known what preceded.

"Because of social media, we now have so many other voices in the mix that may not have been involved and so now there’s misinformation that’s mingled in with actual facts," says the Chief Communications Officer for District 20, according to CBS4.

An investigation is ongoing, as the school district works to separate fact from fiction and get to the bottom of the incident.
