Aides to President Joe Biden have admitted that the president is usually only fully alert between the hours of 10am to 4pm, according to a new report. The revelations come after Biden's lackluster debate with Donald Trump this past week.

According to Axios, Biden's aides told the outlet that the president struggles outside of the late morning to afternoon hours but is more likely to face mental lapses in the early morning and after 4pm.

"From 10am to 4pm, Biden is dependably engaged — and many of his public events in front of cameras are held within those hours. Outside of that time range or while traveling abroad, Biden is more likely to have verbal miscues and become fatigued, aides told Axios," the outlet reported.

The debate between Biden and Trump started at 9pm Eastern time on Thursday evening and then First Lady Jill Biden had to help him walk off the stage after his performance where he appeared confused, fumbled over his words, and was incoherent at times. The report from the outlet comes after Biden appeared more awake in a speech in North Carolina where he was also able to read off a teleprompter and had a cheering crowd around him in the early hours of the day.

During the speech, Biden said, "I don't walk as easy as I used to, I don't speak as smoothly as I used to, I don't debate as well as I used to" and then added that he knows "how to get things done." The two appearances may have had some wondering how Biden seemed to fare well in one instance but fell flat in the other.

In reaction to the debate on Thursday, many reports said the whole Democratic party went into a panic, with liberal pundits and figures suggesting that Biden should step down. Top-level Democrats then attempted to quell the controversy with even former President Barack Obama commenting on the mess and urging voters to consider Biden's "entire life" and not the poor performance they had just witnessed.
