Suspect arrested for exposing genitals to 62-year-old woman at New York food court

Authorities arrested a male suspect on Thursday for allegedly exposing his genitals to a 62-year-old woman inside a shopping mall in Garden City, Long Island, New York

Irvin Acevedo Ayala, 27, of Hempstead, has been charged with one count of public lewdness. 

He is accused of exposing and touching his genitals inappropriately as he approached the female victim at the food court in Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City located at 630 Old Country Road, according to the police press release. 

The Nassau County Police Department said the incident occurred around 10 am on Thursday. 

After a thorough investigation, police said the defendant was located nearby and placed under arrest without incident. 

The victim has not been identified by authorities. 

Ayala will be arraigned on Friday at the First District Court at 99 Main Street, Hempstead, according to the press release. 

Anyone who believes they may have been victimized by the defendant is asked to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or dial 911, as requested by the officers. Callers will maintain their anonymity.
