A coalition of Republican senators, led by Texas Senator Ted Cruz, are reportedly discussing following suit with Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley's objection to the 2020 electoral votes on Jan. 6.

Senators Ted Cruz, Ron Johnson, James Lankford, Steve Daines, John Kennedy, Marsha Blackburn, and Mike Braun, as well as Senator-elects Cynthia Lummis, Roger Marshall, Bill Hagerty, and Tommy Tuberville, are saying that the 2020 election "featured unprecedented allegations of voter fraud and illegal conduct," according to Fox News.

"Voter fraud has posed a persistent challenge in our elections, although its breadth and scope are disputed. By any measure, the allegations of fraud and irregularities in the 2020 election exceed any in our lifetimes," the Republican lawmakers said in a statement.

The lawmakers are calling for Congress to appoint an Electoral Commission to conduct a 10-day emergency audit of the 2020 election results in states where election legitimacy was disputed.

One America News Network's Jack Posobiec said on Twitter that many of the joining Republicans are citing Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's rejection of $2,000 stimulus checks for Americans as a sign of bad leadership as their reason for turning on his directive not to challenge the electoral votes.

Sen. Hawley announced Wednesday that he would object to the Electoral College's votes handing the 2020 election to Joe Biden on grounds of allegations that the electoral results were fraudulent and invalid .

"I cannot vote to certify the electoral college results on January 6 without raising the fact that some states, particularly Pennsylvania, failed to follow their own state election laws. And I cannot vote to certify without pointing out the unprecedented effort of mega corporations, including Facebook and Twitter, to interfere in this election, in support of Joe Biden," the Missouri senator said in a statement.

"At the very least, Congress should investigate allegations of voter fraud and adopt measures to secure the integrity of our elections. But Congress has so far failed to act," he continued.

Due to the objections raised by GOP Senators, Congress will be forced to carry out an open debate on the legitimacy of the 2020 election in order to certify the results.
