On Thursday, a brawl involving illegal immigrants broke out in Times Square during which a 17-year-old, among the many who took part, was stabbed.

The fighting took place just steps from where two police officers were brutally attacked by a group of illegal immigrants in January.

According to Fox News, the incident took place around 5:30pm in front of 251 West 42nd Street. The teen, reportedly from Nicaragua, was allegedly being chased by a group of people following what was believed to have been an argument when one of them stabbed him in the back with a large knife.

First responders arrived at the scene a short time later and rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

The weapon used in the stabbing, which was still soaked in blood, was recovered along with a snapped pole.

A witness who worked in Times Square told the New York Post that they "saw someone running," and that "there was blood coming from his back, coming from everywhere."

"It's dangerous," he added. "Some people are just crazy."

Following the attack, police took a 22-year-old man and six others, several of whom are illegal immigrants, into custody. Over a dozen suspects are still being sought.

A short time later, another brawl broke out in the area, this time one block down in front of the Hard Rock Cafe, following an argument between two groups. One victim, a 28-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. Three people were arrested at the scene.

Police have stated that there is no evidence linking the two fights, however the investigation is ongoing.
