Bethany Wilson, 24, committed three carjacking in a space of a few hours on Thursday, all with her child in tow. After crashing one of the stolen vehicles, she was taken into police custody.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, Wilson began her spree at 4:42 p.m. by stealing a Nissan Juke from a 51-year-old woman who was pumping gas. She allegedly pointed a gun at the victim before taking off with the car.
A little over half an hour later, at 5: 16 p.m., police received a call about another carjacking incident at an intersection. The man at the scene claimed a white female stole his Mercedes-Benz at gunpoint. The victim stated that the woman fired a single shot while using her child as a human shield.
Police said that the Nissan Juke was discovered abandoned near the site of the second carjacking, and the Mercedes-Benz was also discovered later by police.
Wilson's spree continued, with police discovering that she had stolen a third vehicle that day, a Ford F-150, which she crashed on Interstate 24.
After receiving a tip-off that Wilson was staying at a nearby Days Inn, police came to the hotel and took her into custody without confrontation, shortly before 11 p.m.
Police said that her child was with her in the hotel room unharmed and is safe.
Clarksville Police Department have so far charged Wilson with two counts of aggrivated robbery, but have said that further charges will be brought forward.
