Despite impeachment and allegations from the Texas State House, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has broken personal fundraising records.

In a press release from Ken Paxton's office, he disclosed that in the near "two months after the House’s sham and illegal impeachment, Attorney General Ken Paxton raised $1.7 million dollars in 11 days."

In May, an impeachment of Paxton was pursued by the Texas House over alleged bribery and abuse of public trust. Paxton released a statement in response to the impeachment, calling it "unfounded" and "politically motivated."

The Dallas Country GOP then passed a unanimous resolution defending Paxton from the allegations. The resolution explicitly condemned the impeachment process, saying the "Dallas County Republican Party CONDEMNS the process by which the Texas House of Representatives impeached General Paxton as unprecedented and an offense to Due Process."

The press release said that even "[w]hile the House Speaker and his allied claimed AG Paxton was politically done, he broke his own fundraising records and received donations from 2,343 separate donors."

Paxton, in the press release, remarked, "For years I have been fighting the federal government, Texas liberals and big government politicians who seek to limit our freedoms and destroy our Texas values."

"Not only will we survive this latest attack but we will come out of this stronger than ever. I will never stop fighting for Texans,” Paxton continued.

An investigative committee comprised of three Republicans and two Democrats initially drafted 20 articles of impeachment against Paxton. The articles included "attempted conspiracy," "unfitness for office" and many other allegations.

Former President Donald Trump posted about the impeachment at the time on Truth Social saying, "What is our Country coming to?"

In his initial response to the impeachment, Paxton wrote in his statement that Speaker of the Texas House Dade Phelan and his "coalition of Democrats and liberal Republicans" are "in lockstep with the Biden Administration" on policies ranging from abortion to illegal immigration.
