A 53-year-old high school teacher from Katy, Texas was arrested on Monday after authorities discovered child pornography on his electronic devices.

James Stone, who admitted to producing some of the images himself, was subsequently charged with ten counts of possession of child pornography.

In a press release, Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable explained that on Monday, his team executed a search warrant at Stone's home alongside the Texas Department of Public Safety. "Thousands" of images of child pornography were recovered, and during the ensuing interview, Stone revealed that he had taken many of them himself "on school grounds, at beaches, and local swimming pools around the Katy area."

Stone was promptly arrested and taken to Fort Bend County Jail.

According to Gable, the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Criminal Investigations Division "has reason to believe there are several victims associated with this case," and anyone with information has been asked to come forward.

Stone worked at Tompkins High School while his wife, Melinda, served as principal at Taylor High on the other side of town.

Following the news that her husband had been arrested for child pornography, Mrs. Stone sent out letters to parents and staff vowing to continue acting in the interest of her students.

"His arrest and involvement in this criminal activity was unbeknownst to me or those closest to him," she wrote to staff, per the Daily Mail, noting that she and her family "are deeply disappointed in his actions and thus we do not have any plans to be involved in James' criminal proceedings as he navigates the next steps."

Mrs. Stone emphasized that neither "I, nor any other family member, is implicated in James’ criminal activity."

She told parents that, ’providing a safe and secure learning environment is and will continue to be the District’s and my top priority," and said she would continue updating everyone as more information becomes available.
