The View co-host Sunny Hostin says she deleted her X account because it was “the most patriotic thing” she could do following the stunning election victory of President Donald Trump. Hostin, 56, discussed her abhorrence of X and opposition to Elon Musk during a recent “Behind The Table” podcast.

"Once Elon Musk took over, I feel like he ruined it, like Black Twitter was a thing that I loved, and it was sort of replaced,” she said, claiming that she did “some research” and discovered that incidents of “misogyny and racism” were up 4,000 percent since Musk’s acquisition of the social media platform.

“And while I don't read the comments, my team does, and they were talking about, like, the death threats that I was getting all this, like, just horrible stuff. And I I think that Elon Musk … I don't want to be affiliated with anything that he owns. I'm not gonna buy a Tesla, I'm not gonna buy Tesla stock. I just, I felt, in a way, I felt like it was a patriotic thing to do, just get rid of that,” she said.

Hostin was not popular on X after she blamed “uneducated white women” and Latino men for Trump’s victory, The New York Post noted. “I think [Trump’s victory] had nothing to do with policy, I think this was a referendum on cultural resentment in this country,” she said during the Nov. 6 episode of The View, which featured many of the co-hosts wearing black clothing to reflect their ideological mourning over the presidential election results.

“Why do you think uneducated white women voting against their reproductive health freedoms, and why do you think Latino men voted in favor of someone who is going to deport a majority of his community?” she asked ABC Political News Director Rick Klein.

After she was challenged over her description of white women as being uneducated, Hostin declared that she should have said “non college-educated white women.” That didn’t wash with many of her online critics.

“She is a bitter miserable hateful woman,” one X user shot back.

The View is reportedly looking for a Trump-supporting panelist to join the NeverTrumpers on the show.
