A topless protester barrelled onto the floor of the red-carpet movie premiere of "Three Thousand Years of Longing" in Cannes, France on Friday afternoon, covered in paint and screaming "stop raping us."

The woman was covered only in a pair of underwear. She had splashes of blood-red paint around her legs and genital region, and a bright blue and yellow rectangle painted across her chest. The words "stop raping us" were scrawled onto the rectangle. The word "scum" had been written on her lower back.

Security quickly draped a jacket over the woman and removed her from the area.

Many online commentators believe the scene was an act of protest against sex crimes, like rape, that have been committed during Ukraine-Russia conflict. The woman, who has not been publicly identified, has not offered motivation for interrupting the event. The design on her chest closely mirrors the Ukrainian flag.

The incident comes as the atrocities of war come into the public eye. Among other horrifying discoveries, Ukrainian officials accused a Russian soldier of gang-raping a child.
