The Toronto Police Service's Sex Crimes, Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) has made an arrest in a sexual assault investigation.
Police say that Jose Portillo, 62, of Toronto, volunteered at Mision Cristiana Voz de Sestauracion Church on 4545 Jane Street.
The man allegedly sexually assaulted two males under the age of 18 on "numerous occasions."
Portillo is facing the following charges:
- Four counts of Sexual Assault
- Three counts of Sexual Exploitation
- Two counts of Sexual Interference
- Make Sexually Explicit Material Available to a Person Under 18
Portillo is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 2:30 pm, at Toronto North Courts, 1000 Finch Avenue West, room 301, police said in a media release.
"Investigators established the 62-year-old has volunteered with Mision Cristiana Voz de Restauracion Church in Toronto since 2004," said the report.
