A Toronto gentleman's club has required proof of vaccination for the last three weeks. According to the manager, he said it's "ironic" that a strip club has to lead such an effort.

Kaspar Cameron, Filmores' entertainment manager, said the unity displayed by his staff, who joined together to urge the requirement of vaccines, is something that cannot be found in Ontario's government, which he says has done nothing in way of vaccine mandates or passport policies to prevent the fourth wave of COVID-19, according to CTV News.

"The morality of it, the ethical responsibility of it, is what is guiding us. And I find it ironic that it has to be a strip club that leads," said Cameron. No guest is allowed inside Filmores without proof of receiving at least one vaccine shot.

"The last thing anyone wants to feel in a strip club is worry about their safety, just be relaxed and have fun, not be worried about stuff," Cameron said. The policy enacted by the club was one not included in Ontario's school reopening plans for September, where children will be required to wear a mask but not required to get vaccinated.

"People are talking about mandatory vaccinations and vaccine passports," said Dr. Anna Banerji of the University of Toronto's Dalla Lana School of Public Health. "We really need to change the way we think about COVID. We need to keep places safe, homes safe, workplaces safe. The best way to do that is vaccination."

Toronto Mayor John Tory said he favoured such a policy but added that its implementation shouldn't be up to the city.

"We need an overall plan. We can't afford to have a patchwork quilt of chaos, where York and Durham and Peel and Toronto and different employers within the banking system do things differently. People are going to be confused, and that is a danger," he said.

Ontario's Solicitor-General said that she wrote to the federal government to provide leadership and prevent patchwork systems across the regional and provincial levels.

"It becomes critically important because we don't want 13 different vaccine passports and certificates across Canada," Sylvia Jones said.
