According to New York City Police, the Con Ed facility in Queens has exploded turning the sky bright blue.

The massive explosion was so intense that within moments Twitter was filled with passerby's uploading videos of the skyline.

LaGuardia Airport had also grounded all flights earlier today, in order to do an airport inspection and the ground stop but that ban has since been lifted, according to the FAA.
