Witches gathered in Salem, MA Thursday to honor one of their own with an award: former porn star, Trump accuser and practicing witch Stormy Daniels. The faithful gathered on Halloween at Salem Common for the annual “witches circle” rite that celebrates the spirits of family and friends who who have died and to present Daniels with the the first annual Salem Witches’ Woman of Power Award,

"The greatest war on women was a witch hunt that spread like a cancer across the European continent and England, and culminated here with the Salem Witch Trials,” Christian Day, the practicing male witch and ceremony organizer, said, according to The Salem News. “Many of those people were not witches — some were, but I think many of them got away. That’s why 85% of the victims of the Salem Witch Trials were women. We are still facing a war on women today, and that’s why we chose Stormy Daniels as the recipient for tonight’s reward.”

Daniels, who was at the center of a “hush money” case against former President Donald Trump and who claimed to have had an affair with him, also announced during the flurry of publicity that she was a lifeline adherent of Wicca, the formal name of the witchcraft religion. Daniels also once hired and then sued disgraced lawyer Michael Avenatti, who said of her, “If Stormy Daniels lips are moving, she’s lying for money.”

Lorelie the Love Witch presented Daniels with her award: “I would like to award Ms. Stormy Daniels with this award in honor of her strength, her character, and for standing strong for what is wrong,” she said.

“It doesn’t matter what spiritual or religious beliefs you hold, or why you’re here in Salem today,” Daniels responded. “Whether you're here to wear awesome costumes, see the weirdo witches, or pay tribute to your ancestors, I can tell you that there is one thing we can all agree on, you should not be persecuted for your beliefs. You should not be bullied into silence or into making a choice whether you like it or not. We are all equal — your gift is your voice, and that’s the one thing that no one can take from you.”
