President Donald Trump's deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller said that the federal government will "find every illegal alien who is stealing American taxpayer dollars" and end fraudulent payments going out to those who are in the US illegally.

CNN's Brianna Keilar asked Miller about staffers at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and how much they will be able to access in terms of data at the IRS, and Miller responded, "DOGE is part of the federal government. It is a term to describe the employees the federal government who have been tasked with anti-fraud, anti-corruption activities. Again, you may not consider it a scandal that millions of illegal aliens are accepting and receiving taxpayer benefits. You might not consider it a scandal that illegal aliens have stolen social security numbers."

Keilar interjected in the particularly heated exchange and asked if DOGE was looking at IRS data in order to find fraudulent collection of taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants, to which he said, "Any time a crime is committed, of course there should be an investigation."

Keilar interjected again, pressing on the question, to which Miller added, "The federal government will find every illegal alien who is stealing American taxpayer dollars. And that's what Americans expect to happen."

"If IRS investigators find illegal aliens stealing taxpayer money, of course they will be referred to ICE. Of course it will be referred to Homeland Security Investigations."

Miller went onto address what he said was rampant fraud in the social security system, with illegal immigrants being able to commit fraud with stolen social security numbers.

"These are all crimes, and yes, they will be investigated, yes, they will be prosecuted, and yes, they will be deported," Miller added. He later took a jab as CNN, saying that the outlet did not sound “indifferent or unbiased on” the questions he was being asked.
