GOP nominee Donald Trump is leading Vice President Kamala Harris in a new poll from a state not often thought of as openly available to Republicans in the presidential race: New Hampshire. The Granite State appears to be up for grabs for Trump as the election draws near.

According to a new poll from the New Hampshire Journal, Trump is up over Harris 50.2 to 49.8 percent, although the margin of error makes the lead of 0.4 percent a statistical tie. However, Republicans have not won the state since 2000, which means the poll could be very significant for the GOP's chances as Election Day is just over a week away.

The poll was conducted with the outlet in conjunction with the Praecones Analytica polling firm and took place between Oct. 24 and 26 with 622 registered voters and a margin of error at +/- 3.93 percent.

"There’s a reason Kamala Harris has been spending money in New Hampshire. She’s on defense and knows President Trump is on the path to victory," Trump campaign spokeswoman and NH native Karoline Leavitt told the New Hampshire Journal.

"To my fellow Granite Staters who want to keep our beautiful state safe, business-friendly, and free — get out and vote for President Trump. Kamala Harris is a radical liberal who would destroy New Hampshire and America forever," she added.

The poll is on track with recent results out of the state as well. Last week, Trump only trailed Harris 47 to 50 percent in the Granite State, however, many analysts have determined that the GOP has the momentum at this point of the race, where the lead belonging to Harris could be shrinking in the state.

On general ballot questions for the poll from the Journal, the residents of New Hampshire were split between wanting Republicans to control Congress 52 to 48 percent, but wanting Democrats to control the state-level legislature, 50.6 to 49.4 percent. Additionally, GOP gubernatorial candidate Kelly Ayotte is leading Democrat Joyce Craig by nearly two points.
