Trump aide Heidi Stirrup was reportedly banned from the Justice Department building after allegedly pressuring staffers to give her info on election fraud.
Stirrup was reportedly assigned to the Justice Department as a White House liaison several months ago, the AP reported. She was told to vacate the building after it was discovered that she was allegedly trying to pry information about the Justice Department's work on election fraud cases from staffers.
The allegations against Stirrup come from three unnamed individuals who are "familiar with the matter." They requested to stay anonymous because they were not authorized to discuss the matter.
One of the sources alleges that Stirrup made job offers to political allies for top positions within the Justice Department without consulting senior officials.
Trump appointed Stirrup to be a member of the board of visitors of the Air Force Academy on Thursday, a White House press release said.
Trump's legal efforts to uncover evidence of election fraud in key battleground states of the 2020 election are ongoing.
The Trump administration has been working to have liaisons report directly to the White House instead of their respective agencies, the AP reported. There have been concerns throughout the administration that liaisons are undercutting Trump's political appointees as well as department officials.
