On Friday evening, an unidentified vandal or vandals spray-painted the word "TRAITOR" in big red letters on the suburban Philadelphia driveway of Trump defense attorney Michael van der Veen's home.

Police are currently investigating the incident, which occurred in West Whiteland Township PA, around 30 miles from the city of Philadelphia.

According to ABC News, van der Veen has hired private security, and the local police have stepped up presence in the area in the meantime.

The graffiti has been the only evidence of vandalism found on van der Veen's property. It appears that his front door was also egged:

"Looks like in addition to the spray painting "traitor" on the sidewalk outside his house, vandals also egged Trump lawyer Michael van der Veen's suburban Philadelphia home Friday night. West Whiteland Police looking for info...."

Van der Veen is a personal injury lawyer, but he is also part of ex president Donald Trump's legal team, and was one of those whose task it was to argue Trump's case before the Senate during the impeachment proceedings which just recently have come to a close.

Trump received an acquittal on Saturday, since the required two-thirds majority vote threshold was not reached in order to impeach him.

"My entire family, my business, my law firm are under siege right now," van der Veen commented, referring not only to the vandalism but to the fact that demonstrators have been gathering outside of his law office in Philadelphia.

So far, no arrests have been made.
