US President Donald Trump has two more days and office, and it appears he will not use his powers of presidential pardon for himself or any of his family members.

"Sources with knowledge of the process tell @FoxNews that President Trump is NOT EXPECTED to issue 'protective' pardons to members of his family, and is NOT expected to attempt a protective pardon for himself," John Roberts said.

All US Presidents issue lots of presidential pardons in their last days in office, and President Trump so far has been no exception. He is currently expected to issue as many as a further 100 pardons between now and Tuesday night.

Also, as a point of fact, no US President has ever tried to pardon himself while still in office, and there is no indication that such an action would even be upheld legally, since the very legal concept is completely untested. President Gerald Ford pardoned President Richard Nixon for his crimes, but Nixon could not pardon himself.

Also, it is thought that issuing a pardon for himself or anybody close to him would be tantamount to an admission of guilt, and could negatively affect his upcoming impeachment trial. Speculation, however, has been rampant.
