Michigan police searching for suspects who used knife, bats in violent brawl at Grand Valley State University

Authorities are searching for multiple black male suspects involved in a violent campus brawl at Grand Valley State University in Michigan. The fight involved weapons, including a knife and baseball bats.

The incident occurred around 7 pm on Tuesday outside of the Holton-Hooker Living Center. Police said two individuals have been taken into custody on obstruction charges, while several others remain at large, according to local news.

Officers arrived on the scene and located one individual with cuts on his hand. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Another person sustained knee and hand injuries, but declined medical care, according to GVSU police.

Video footage shared on social media shows what appeared to be two groups of men, all of whom were black, targeting each other with forceful punches and delivering blows with bats. At least one man was repeatedly punched while he was on the ground.

It's unclear how the fight started.
 

"All of a sudden this kid's like on the ground, and they're beating him with these baseball bats," student Mackenzie Baker told the network. 

Another GVSU student expressed concerns about what he described as an increase in fighting on campus. "I'm nervous about being on campus a little bit," said Adrian Crisma. "It was just a knife. It wasn't really like a gun. So if it was a gun, I probably would have been more scared."
