61 percent of voters overall in these swing states say the VP candidate is much more or somewhat more important this election, given the ages of Biden and Trump.
New swing state polling out from Morning Consult/Bloomberg has revealed that voters in these seven states, if found in the position that Kamala Harris was the Democrat nominee for president, would vote for Donald Trump over the current vice president by a large margin. Trump also has a lead over Biden in Arizona, Georgia, North Carolina, and Wisconsin.
In Arizona, 51 percent of voters said they would cast their ballot for Trump compared to 42 percent who said they would vote for Harris. Trump holds a 5-point lead over Joe Biden in the state both in a head-to-head matchup as well as a race including third-party candidates.
Voters in Georgia preferred Trump over Harris 49 to 41 percent. Trump held a three-point lead over Biden in the head-to-head matchup, and a five-point lead when other candidates are included.
In Michigan, 47 percent of voters said they would cast their ballot for Trump, compared to 44 percent who said they would vote for Harris. Biden leads Trump by a slight margin in the state, leading by one point in the head-to-head matchup and by two points in the wider field of candidates.
47 percent of voters in Nevada said they would vote for Trump over Harris, who received 44 percent support. Biden and Trump are tied in the head-to-head matchup at 47 percent, and Trump leads Biden in the wider field of candidates by four points.
In North Carolina, Trump holds a 10-point lead over Harris (50 to 40 percent), with Trump leading by seven points in the head-to-head matchup against Biden and by eight points in the wider field.
Trump leads Harris 50 to 43 percent in Pennsylvania. He also leads Biden by 2 points in the head-to-head matchup and leads Biden by 3 points in the field that includes third-party candidates.
In Wisconsin, 49 percent of voters said they would cast their ballot for Trump while 41 percent said they would cast their ballot for Harris. Trump leads by one point in both the head-to-head matchup and wider field over Biden.
The lead that Trump sees over Harris come as voters in these swing states say that the vice-presidential candidate for either nominee is more important this year given Trump and Biden’s ages, with 61 percent of voters overall in these swing states saying the VP is much more or somewhat more important this election.
If Biden were unable to fulfill his duties as president, 39 percent of voters overall said that they had no trust in Harris to assume the responsibilities of the presidency, with an additional 12 percent saying they did not have much trust in her.
The poll was conducted between May 7 and 13 of 4962 registered voters across seven swing states and has a margin of error of 1 percent.
