Speaking with Miranda Devine in an episode of her podcast Pod Force One posted Tuesday, President Donald Trump praised Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard for her work in exposing the Trump-Russia collusion hoax.

"It's all there now, it's in writing. And Tulsi has done a great job. You know, there were some people that really wanted Tulsi. They thought she was going to do a fantastic job. And when you look, a lot of people would not have found it. They wouldn't have found it to be politically correct. You find it, okay. It would be easier not to."

He continued, "and she's tough, and she's smart, and she did, she went into, deep into the files, and she found it. What it says is just terrible. Look, this was an attempted coup, it was a failed coup."

Earlier in July, Gabbard released documents detailing how the Obama administration had "manufactured and politicized intelligence" to hurt Trump’s chances in the 2016 election. Declassified reports revealed how intelligence officials under Obama released a report titled "Russian Influence Campaign Targeting the 2016 US Presidential Election" which "failed to acknowledge that key judgments on Putin’s intentions were based on raw intelligence that did not meet tradecraft standards."

Trump said when asked how he felt when he saw the documents declassified, "I would have thought they maybe would have thrown it out."

"When you read it, it’s unbelievable, a real hoax. You know, it’s a real hoax. If they would devote their time to winning elections, or if they devote their time to, like greatness, making America great again, it would be—cause there’s a certain genius to it. But it’s also sick. They’re sick."

Since the release of the reports, the Department of Justice has launched a Strike Force to review and investigate allegations raised by Gabbard regarding the “alleged weaponization of the US intelligence community.” Gabbard had said in a White House press conference that she referred Obama to the DOJ for investigation.
