"Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!"
"I can’t believe Maria Bartiromo is no longer going to have her great show(s) on FoxNews/Business. Three different shows, always number one. Maria is a total professional, and a true warrior. Her fans, of which there are many, will not be happy. God bless you, Maria!" Trump wrote.
Bartiromo reportedly wanted to pursue a story related to Chinese interference in the 2020 election, and the network was apprehensive because of its legal fight with Dominion Voting Systems, according to reporter Dylan Byers of Puck News. Byers reported, "A Fox Business executive sent a text to Fox Business producers informing them that that story could not go to air. Bartiromo took a screen shot of the guidance and sent it to senior White House officials. Fox News leadership learned about that after receiving a call from the White House, which they viewed as a fireable offense."
"Fox pulled Bartiromo from air after Aug. 9. She was fired today. I have also learned that her executive producer Patrick Ignozzi was also fired after the announcement," Byers added in the report.
According to the report from Byers, Bartiromo has also hired lawyer Bryan Freedman.
In an announcement on Thursday, Fox News said that the network had "parted ways" with the anchor. The network said in a statement, “We thank Maria for her work over the last 12 ½ years and wish her all the best on her next chapter," but did not disclose that she had been fired.
