Trump will sign NO BILLS until SAVE America Act passes Senate

President Donald Trump has said that he will not be signing any other bills until the SAVE America Act is passed in the Senate and then made law. The pressure from Trump on Senate leadership comes as there have been a few GOP senators who have either come out against the bill or have been skeptical of passing it by way of forcing the Democrats to use the talking filibuster. 

"Great Job by hard working Scott Pressler on Fox & Friends talking about using the Filibuster, or Talking Filibuster, in order to pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT, an 88% issue with ALL VOTERS. It must be done immediately. It supersedes everything else. MUST GO TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE."

DO NOT FAIL!!! President DONALD J. TRUMP," he added.

The SAVE America Act would require the use of identification to vote in federal elections as well as proof of citizenship. The bill has been stalled in the Senate for weeks now, with Majority Leader John Thune under pressure to get it through. Last week, more of that pressure was added as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said he would drop out Senate runoff election in the GOP primary if the act was passed into law. 

It was rumored that Trump was going to endorse incumbent Senator John Cornyn in the race, which then led Paxton to post, "The Save America Act is the most important bill the U.S. Senate could ever pass, and I'm committed to helping President Trump get it done. I would consider dropping out of this race if Senate Leadership agrees to lift the filibuster and passes the SAVE America Act. John Cornyn is a coward who has refused to support abolishing the filibuster to pass this bill. Now, Fake News reporters and the establishment are trying to destroy me with misinformation."

It appears as though Trump has capitalized on Paxton's move, saying that he will not sign any other bills until the SAVE America Act is passed. Cornyn, who had shown skepticism about passing the act by forcing a talking filibuster, posted after Paxton's message, "Contrary to fake news in the twitterverse: I have supported the Save America Act from day one. I will happily support the 'talking filibuster' if that’s what it takes to pass this into law."
