Trump slams Democrats, 'past supporters,' for peddling 'Jeffrey Epstein Hoax'

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday morning to take aim at his "past supporters" who "have bought into this 'bullsh*t'" on Jeffrey Epstein "hook, line, and sinker." He accused them of having been "conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years" and reiterated his statement that the Epstein files, client list, etc., are a "hoax."

"The Radical Left Democrats have hit pay dirt, again!" Trump said. "Just like with the FAKE and fully discredited Steele Dossier, the lying 51 'Intelligence' Agents, the Laptop from Hell, which the Dems swore had come from Russia (No, it came from Hunter Biden’s bathroom!), and even the Russia, Russia, Russia Scam itself, a totally fake and made up story used in order to hide Crooked Hillary Clinton’s big loss in the 2016 Presidential Election, these Scams and Hoaxes are all the Democrats are good at - It’s all they have - They are no good at governing, no good at policy, and no good at picking winning candidates.

Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don’t even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don’t want their support anymore! Trump's latest comments on Epstein et al come after California Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna attempted to force House Republicans to vote for or against the release of alleged Epstein files. Khanna wanted to attach an amendment to a bill in the Rules committee on Monday night that would have required the DOJ to release all video and files on the case.

His amendment had no provision for the DOJ to not release information that would be harmful to victims or for the DOJ to not simply publish the child exploitation videos that were among Epstein's personal effects. The GOP in House Rules voted against it. Democrats tried a later stunt on Tuesday on the House floor which was also poorly received.

The Trump administration has come under fire by the MAGA base over what they see as a lack of transparency regarding the Epstein files. On the campaign trail in 2024, Trump said he'd release them. After Pam Bondi was appointed as attorney general, she said she'd release them. Kash Patel and Dan Bongino at the FBI made a similar promise. When all of those parties later stated that there was no Epstein client list and that Epstein had, in fact, committed suicide while in a New York City prison in 2019, the base did not believe them. 

Trump has since come out to say that the Epstein files are a "hoax" and has scolded those among the base who are still demanding answers. On Tuesday, he indicated that Bondi "should" release all "credible" information on Epstein, though he also said the files were a hoax cooked up by Joe Biden and Barack Obama.
