Two phones, an iPhone 13 and 14, were searched and seized during the investigation.
Search warrants obtained by the Utah State Bureau of Investigation reveal that Tyler Robinson's cell phone had a Google Maps route beginning about 23 minutes after Charlie Kirk was murdered. That route would take him from just near Utah Valley University to his home at 3419 S River Rd. in Saint George, Utah. Charlie Kirk was killed while he was speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. This is just some of the evidence prosecutors are submitting in favor of prosecuting Robinson, including new footage tracking his movements across campus on the day Kirk was killed.
The affidavit for the search warrant from Utah State Bureau of Investigation's agent Justin Bowen read: "A search warrant was obtained for Tyler Robinson’s cellphone. During a review of the data and information stored on the device, I observed a Google Maps route with a start time of 9
/10/2025 6:46:13 PM(UTC+0). Accounting for the time conversion from UTC to MDT, the route start time was approximately 1246 hours. The route start time was approximately 23 minutes after the shooting. The starting point for the route was listed with GPS coordinates.
"The starting point coordinates were near the Mountain Shadows Shopping Center. According to Google Maps, this shopping center is approximately seven minutes from the Utah Valley University campus. The Google Maps route is from the area near the shopping
complex to a Quick Quack Car Wash located at 855 N State St, Orem, UT 84057. Agent Draney with the Utah State Bureau of Investigation obtained records and video footage from the Quick Quack Car Wash of Tyler Robinson’s 2013 Dodge Challenger (Utah license plate T455CE) arriving at the car wash at approximately 1257 hours on 9/10/2025. Investigators previously conducted a records check and found Tyler Robinson to be a co-owner on the vehicle outlined above. I also observed a second Google Maps route that had been stored on Tyler Robinson’s device.
"The Google Maps route had a start time of 9/11/2025 7:33:47 AM(UTC+0). Accounting for the time conversion from UTC to MDT, the route start time was approximately 0133 hours. The starting point for the route was listed with GPS coordinates. The starting point coordinates were in the neighborhood to the north of, and in close proximity to, the area where the aforementioned rifle was located near the UVU campus. The Google Maps route is from the area near the UVU campus to 3419 S River Rd. Investigators had previously conducted a records check and found that Tyler Robinson was residing at 3419 S RIVER RD UNIT 73, SAINT GEORGE UT."
Two phones, an iPhone 13 and 14, were searched and seized during the investigation.
The warrants for the "dark blue" iPhone 13 read: "Your affiant is requesting to search and seize the cellphone as identified in this affidavit. Social media posts, search history, social media activity. Any and all other information or data that is deemed to be pertinent to the investigation of an aggravated murder."
Investigator Justin Bowen attested that the property had "been used or is possessed for the purpose of being used to commit or conceal the commission of an offense; or is evidence of illegal conduct."
A warrant issued for an iPhone 14 protected by an OtterBox case with a cracked screen read: "Your affiant is requesting to search and seize the cellphone as identified in this affidavit for electronically stored information, including information related to incoming and outgoing calls, missed calls, and the dates and times recorded for such calls; contact directory information; subject account information as well as account information for third party applications; voice messages; text messages; multimedia messages; digital photographs; video files; any video or audio recordings, downloads, or copies; all GPS mapping and coordinates, including historically archived information; GPS information to include location data from third party applications, including all EXIF and metadata attached to these files; social media posts, search history, social media activity; and any and all other information or data that is deemed to be pertinent to the investigation of a homicide."
