JD Vance says the 'evidence is clear' that Tyler Robinson killed Charlie Kirk

“I’m always going to wonder what was said and how many contacts he had beforehand."

“I’m always going to wonder what was said and how many contacts he had beforehand."

Vice President JD Vance has said that the "evidence is clear" that Tyler Robinson was the person who killed Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University (UVU) 10 months ago.

First reported by Mary Margaret Olohan at the Daily Wire, Vance shared that he thinks the "evidence is clear" that Robinson killed Kirk. The comments come as there have been some commentators, such as Candace Owens, who have claimed that Kirk's death is somehow linked to Egyptian planes, Israel, and Kirk's own widow, Erika. Owens has made such claims without solid evidence.

Over the last week, during the preliminary hearing, prosecutors spent several days reviewing footage, testimony, and other pieces of evidence before a plea was entered by Robinson, who has been charged with Kirk's murder that took place on the UVU campus on September 10.

During the preliminary hearing that spanned over five days, recorded testimony from Robinson's trans roommate and lover, Lance Twiggs, was played in court, where Twiggs said Robinson confessed to killing Kirk and that the suspect also had regrets about the shooting the day after and wished "he hadn't done it."

In his comments, Vance said that an aspect of Kirk's murder that will always stay with him is whether there were other people involved aside from Robinson who radicalized the suspect to the point of committing the murder.

“Do I think that Tyler Robinson is part of a broader network of left wing radicals who have fomented and encouraged violence? Absolutely. Do I know that they communicated with Tyler Robinson before the shooting? No, I don’t have evidence for that," Vance said.

“I’m always going to wonder,” Vance added. “I’m always going to wonder what was said and how many contacts he had beforehand. By the way, it doesn’t mean that [Robinson’s] any less guilty. But do I wonder if there are other people who are more directly involved in Charlie’s murder? Absolutely, because I don’t think that it’s possible for a young man to get radicalized like that without somebody encouraging him, whether informally or formally.”

“I think there are a lot of people with blood on their hands in the case of Charlie Kirk, but of course, the person most directly who has blood on their hands is Tyler Robinson,” he said.
