U of Colorado Boulder prof claims 'just get it done' is 'hostile and aggressive' language: report

Saying "just get it done" is apparently "hostile and aggressive" language, according to a bias report that was filed at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The report is one of dozens that were obtained by The College Fix, which was able to get its hands on 50 different bias reports that were submitted to the University's Office of Compliance, Ethics, and Policy. Those who claim to experience discrimination can contact the office to report the incident.

One of those instances was a report that a professor used "hostile and aggressive language" when he said to a subordinate, "just get it done," according to The Fix.

The report was made by a professor, who claimed that their colleague said the faculty supervisor “was using hostile and aggressive language in emails to [redacted] and other department staff. One example is 'just get it done.'

“I’m reporting this meeting in case the assertions of aggressive and hostile language needs follow up,” the May 27 report stated.

Other reports at the university included one that stated that American students were "targeted" and "discriminated" against "because they were Americans." The report details that the students “were repeatedly called ‘dumb [f-word] Americans’” and were subject to threats of violence.

Around 10 percent of the cases that were discovered by the outlet had to do with discrimination based on race and ethnicity. One of those reports was from an employee of the university who claimed that a student asked a roommate regarding the ethnicity of instant noodles. The student considered the response to the question racist.

About 5 percent of the bias reports had to do with gender pronouns, according to The Fix. The personal details in the reports were largely redacted.

Another report said that a presenter discussed sexual and racial issues that made people feel uncomfortable. “Some BIPOC guests even left the presentation due to the offensive nature of the comments,” the complaint said. “[Redacted] should be held accountable for this incident and should not represent the institution at public facing events.”
