Video shows Washington teacher was culprit who placed testosterone vials in Pride display as Trump DOJ's investigation into school continues

Newly released surveillance video reportedly shows a Washington state teacher helping assemble a Pride Month display at a high school where testosterone vials were later discovered, adding another development to an incident that has already prompted local and federal investigations.

Surveillance footage obtained by UnDivided host Brandi Kruse confirms that Graham-Kapowsin High School teacher Maygen Press assisted a student in placing testosterone vials inside the school's Pride Month display.

"We have confirmed through video surveillance that a teacher, Maygen Press, was involved in helping a student place testosterone vials inside a Pride Month display at Graham-Kapowsin HS in Washington state. The feds are investigating," Kruse wrote Thursday on X.

Kruse's post included video that appears to show a teacher helping assemble the display alongside a student.

The latest development comes days after the Department of Education launched a formal investigation into Bethel School District over the incident, citing potential violations of the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA), a federal law protecting parents' rights to review instructional materials and receive notice before certain school activities involving students.

The controversy began after photographs of the school's Pride display surfaced online showing what appeared to be testosterone vials displayed alongside a transgender flag, LGBTQ-themed decorations, and children's books. Bethel School District later confirmed that the display included both empty testosterone vials and others containing "a small amount of unknown liquid."

District officials previously stated that the vials had been placed in the display without authorization. "We were made aware of a display at Graham-Kapowsin High School that included empty vials of testosterone as one of its visuals. The display also contained some vials that still contained a small amount of unknown liquid," Bethel School District Communications Director Douglas Boyles previously said.

"The inclusion of the vials was entirely unauthorized and did not receive approval from school leadership or administration," Boyles added.

The district also said administrators had identified those responsible for adding the vials and removed them from the display.

Following public attention to the incident, Pierce County Sheriff Keith Swank announced his office would investigate. Detectives later seized the testosterone vials as evidence.

The Trump administration has since elevated the matter to a federal investigation. The Department of Education said it will examine whether teachers or administrators encouraged students to pursue medical gender-transition procedures without parental knowledge or consent and whether the district complied with federal parental-rights requirements governing instructional materials and student activities.

Federal officials also cited reports that students had access to testosterone, a controlled substance commonly prescribed for certain medical conditions and for individuals undergoing gender-transition procedures, as part of the school's Pride display before law enforcement removed the materials because of health and safety concerns.

The Department has warned that substantiated violations of PPRA can result in enforcement actions, including the potential loss of federal education funding.
