Late last week, a member of the school board barked “let them die '' at a crowd of parents who opposed the critical race theory curriculum.

Now, after losing her positions, she’s now denying that her words were about CRT at all, and even if it was about that, she was wishing death on ideals and not people.

According to the Washington Post, Michelle Leete agreed to resign from the Virginia PTA on Saturday after making the speech seemingly aimed at parents.

“While not speaking in her role within the Virginia PTA, we do not condone the choice of words used during a public event on Thursday, July 15,” a statement from the organization says.

Michelle also lost her job with the Fairfax County PTA following this incident as the PTA officers page now lists her position as vacant.

She previously told the outlet that she was wishing death on the parents’ ideals, but not the actual parents.

The initial report showed (with video) that Michelle Leete of the Virginia state PTA was filmed last Thursday at a Fairfax County school board meeting, making a speech at the counterprotest to parents who opposed critical race theory teachings being pushed into the classroom.

It was a gathering put together with help from the local NAACP chapter: as Michelle Leete has a Vice President positions with that organization too.

For posterity sake, here’s a play-by-play quote of what exactly Leete stated in her remarks.

"Let’s not allow any double downing on lies. Let’s prepare our children for a world they deserve. Let’s deny this off-key band of people that are anti-education, anti-teacher, anti-equity, anti-history, anti-racial reckoning, anti-opportunities, anti-help people, anti-diversity, anti-platform, anti-science, anti-change agent, anti-social justice, anti-healthcare, anti-worker, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-children, anti-healthcare, anti-worker, anti-environment, anti-admissions policy change, anti-inclusion, anti-live-and-let live people."

"Let them die," she said in closing.

Even CNN quoted as much. They said the incident happened at Luther Jackson Middle School and that parents were concerned.

"It had nothing at all to do with CRT. To my knowledge, CRT is not being taught in FCPS or any other public school in the country," Michelle Leete told CNN. Even though this speech was made at the exact sort of protest event.
