WATCH: 100 firefighters called to huge fire at Elephant and Castle station in London, England

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) has sent out 100 firefighters to deal with a "serious blaze" around Elephant and Castle railway station in London. According to the firefighters on the scene, three commercial units, six cars, and a telephone box have been damaged.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sent out 100 firefighters to deal with a "serious blaze" around Elephant and Castle railway station in London, England on Monday. According to the firefighters on the scene, three commercial units, six cars, and a telephone box have been damaged.

Police have stated that a large pile of black smoke had come from the train station opposite to the metro station. Officers on the scene advised people to "avoid the area and to close their doors and windows," reports Sky News.

About 15 fire engines had been initiated into action, as nearby buildings were evacuated. The fire has not been classified as a terror-related incident.

Many witnesses and workers in the area have commented on the smoke and its terrible smell. It was a frightening situation for everyone that was there.

Commander James Ryan of the LFB Station has stated that there were road closures set in place and reinforced that people should avoid the area until firefighters have the situation under control.
