CNN's Chris Cuomo finally addressed "what is going on" with his older brother, New York Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo and the growing sexual harassment scandal, but claimed he would not be covering it due to his personal conflict of interest.

The Cuomo Prime Time host kicked off Monday night’s episode by saying, “Before we start tonight, let me say something that I'm sure is very obvious to you who watch my show and thank you for that. You're straight with me, I'll be straight with you. Obviously I'm aware of what is going on with my brother. And obviously I cannot cover it because he is my brother. Now, of course, CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so."

Contrary to what the host claimed, CNN has been criticized extensively for little to no coverage of the Governor's scandals.

Conversely, Governor Cuomo was a frequent guest on his brother’s show during the outbreak of the pandemic. The brothers performed multiple comedy sketches including one with a giant COVID test swab. Only recently have outlets begun to criticize CNN for having a conflict of interest in interviewing and joking with his own brother during a crisis. The Governor is also facing accusations of covering up coronavirus nursing home and elderly care facility death to avoid a Department of Justice.

All of the bad press regarding the networks coverage of the Governor in the face of the growing scandals, forced CNN to announce the reinstatement of a ban on the younger Cuomo interviewing his brother, following weeks of seemingly non-stop coverage in the early months of the outbreak.

"There's a lot of news going on that matters also, so let's get after that," Chris Cuomo said to conclude the segment. CNN was one of the networks that built up the Governor as a leader against coronavirus and has been reluctant to cover the sexual harassment and nursing home scandals.

In response to the segment, New York Times reporter Annie Karni wrote on Twitter, "What never made sense to me was Chris Cuomo covering him when things were going well for Andrew Cuomo."

The episode aired immediately after The New York Times published a report that a third woman had come forward to accuse the Governor of harassment. Last week, two former staff members accused Cuomo of sexual harassment during their time in his administration.
