In a Wednesday interview with MSNBC’s "Morning Joe," Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison insulted Senator Tom Cotton after the lawmaker suggested that newly minted Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson would have defended Nazis accused of war crimes.
"In a Senate where there is Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, Tom Cotton is the lowest of the low," said Harrison.
Harrison continued on to call Cotton a "little maggot infested man," saying that "he doesn't deserve to be in the United States Senate representing the good people of Arkansas."
Launched into a story about how Cotton blocked the confirmation of Cassandra Butts to become the US ambassador to the Bahamas for 820 days. She passed away in 2016 following a battle with leukemia.
Harrison said Cotton blocked the confirmation because he wanted to "hurt Barack Obama," who was president at the time.
The DNC chairman took issue with remarks Cotton recently made, suggesting that Jackson would have defended Nazis following World War II.
"The last Judge Jackson left the Supreme Court to go to Nuremberg and prosecute the case against the Nazis. This Judge Jackson might have gone there to defend them," Cotton said, referring to former Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson.
"Judge Jackson has also shown real interest in helping terrorists," Cotton stated, according to Insider.
Harrison continued on to say that Cotton's comments point to the current state and direction of the Republican party.
"That is the Republican Party that we see today. It is a party built on fraud, fear, and fascism. And they don't deserve to be in power, not because Democrats should, but because they don't deserve to be in power of this great nation," said Harrison.
