Dr. Anthony Fauci said on CNN on Saturday that Santa Claus is vaccinated and will be ready and able to deliver presents to people's houses.
Fauci was asked by six-year-old Paxton from Geneva, Ill. if Santa would be able to come to people's houses despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"What if he can’t go to anyone’s house? Or near his reindeer?" Paxton asked Dr. Fauci.
"Well, I have to say, I took care of that for you, because I was worried that you'd all be upset," Fauci responded with a smile.
"So, what I did a little while ago, I took a trip up there to the North Pole. I went there, and I vaccinated Santa Claus myself. I measured his level of immunity, and he is good to go."
"He can come down the chimney, he can leave the presents, he can leave and you have nothing to worry about," the doctor affirmed.
Dr. Fauci's statement contradicts remarks he had previously made in an interview with USA Today, where the doctor claimed that Santa possesses "innate immunity" to the coronavirus.
