Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg released a video on Independence Day showing him navigating an electric surfboard while holding waving Old Glory high with both hands.

In the video, Zuckerberg can be seen enjoying himself while floating above the water on the electric surfboard, which hovers a foot or two above the lake. For some reason, the music is set to John Denver's classic tune "Country Roads."

As can be imagined, reactions on social media to the patriotic video from the big tech founder were decidedly mixed.

"Zuckerberg just shared this minute-long video of himself on Instagram, flying the US flag along the lake to the tune of, 'Take me home- country roads.' I think that is enough internet for today."

"Facebook’s PR team spent years trying to craft Zuckerberg’s image, which is funny because the strategy now seems to be 'let the dude let his freak flag fly'."

Another user, a journalist with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, juxtaposed Zuckerberg in 2021 in America with him in Beijing in 2016, trying to get China to open up to Facebook.
